Who has 7mm stw brass in stock?

Winchester made the best, they stopped making it. Your choice is Remington.

I have had great luck fireforming loads with great velocity and accuracy from 300 Weatherby or 8mm Rem mag.

Primer pockets tend to get loose on the Rem. RW Hart makes a tool that will tighten up primer pockets.

If you can find any Winchester brass buy all you can get, I DO!

Good luck!

I don't think Winchester quit making the stuff, but a lot of the Non-current calibers are only done a couple of times a year.
Powder Valley has plenty in stock, but it will not be there for ever.

You can also use 8mm Rem Mag brass. Just neck it down and you are set. That is what I do for most of my brass. It will be a little shorter than 7mm STW brass.

I got 500 of the Winchester, the Rem is junk at the pressures that I am running with the 140's.

I also had great luck with the 8 Rem Mag necking down and shooting the 120g Nosler Solid base lead tips at 3850 fireforming, really bowled over large bucks. I'm shooting the 120g Barnes tripple shocks now.

The 7 STW is in it's glory with the 120's, they shoot clover leafs at 3850-3920 out of a 26' barrel with R#22 and 215's.

Keith you must really have a fast barrel, because otherwise you are pushing some very crazy pressures.

Do you mind post your specific load your using. And have you actually Cronoed that load??

Actually, I have worked with five 7 STW's made off two different reamers with the same design:

zero freebore
.2845 thoat
Minimum SAAMI specs on body dia

There is some serious waste of good velocities wasted on sloppy factory chambers. Imagine having your car engine built to where it would have rings so loose that your car would smoke with a brand new engine...that is how factory rifles are built.

Also, Remington brass is really soft, Winchester is much tougher.
