Who does Rem 700 Bolt knob threading?

Looking for those who will thread a rem 700 Bolt knob and fit a extended knob. Matt

The line-it's easier to manipulate the bolt if you have gloves on--B.S.

I've threaded dozen's of Remington 700 bolt knobs and the "inclusion" or "void" story is greatly exaggerated. I am a registered mechanical engineer in California and I've never seen one that I thought even marginal. I single point thread them and find good quality steel. Modern metallurgy is just better than that.

I know lots of people prefer a custom action with a precision bolt and I'm fine with that. Especially on a $3-4000 rifle. But for those millions of marksmen shooting stock actions, adding a bolt knob makes the action much more competition friendly. Remember that the original Remington bolt, that has now become a hallmark, is designed for hunting where you don't want it to get caught in the brush.

How many people here have broken their 700 bolt handle because of a KNOB addition? There are a lot of them out there that seem to be working just fine.

IF,they were Timed correctly they wouldn't need to have the "screws" put to them....either!!

I have turned and threaded hundreds of Remington Bolt handles for screw on knobs. About 25% of them you will find some porosity inside the factory bolt knob. Most people want them shorter and the threaded portion usually comes from the square part of the bolt handle instead of the factory knob. The trick is aligning the bolt handle before your begin turning off the knob. Some like it swept back, some like it straight out.

Thanks for the replies guys. Got someone located for this one. This one needs to be slightly longer due to thumb scope engagement. Not so much to help work the action just more comfort for the shooter. Thanks, Matt

My handle broke off, lots of inclusion's at the break. I did a temporary fix for now until I get the action trued, then it will get sent to Dan for a new handle and timed properly.
Also my bolt knob is stainless steel, so it is a little more weight than most knobs which didn't help the issue.

Instead of threading mine, I remove the factory handle and weld on one of Holland's. I have 4 or 5 of them and really like them. They're quite a bit easier to find than the factory knob without being super big.

I don't have the option of swapping out knobs, though.
