Who Does a GOOD Trigger Job on the Browning/Winchester 22 LR Made in Japan Rifles?

There's a guy who hangs out over at Rimfire Central who does very similar to what Karl Kenyon used to do to 52C & D triggers; if you're wanting to get the break down under 1lb, that's the way to go. The guy's handle on RFC is Dokey. I sent the triggers off two CMP 52Ds to Karl before he passed away, and couldn't be happier with both of them.

Several years ago, Doan Trevor in NM was talking about offering the Kenyon treatment to 52 triggers. Don't know if he is doing it now. Doan is an outstanding gunsmith.

I bought a very nice CMP 52D that had been re-stocked with a H&H pattern prone stock in nice Claro walnut by Doan - got it on one of the online gun auctions, not from Doan. It also had a trigger job that was very comparable to the two 52D triggers than Karl Kenyon did for me years ago. I never did nail Doan down on whether he'd done this latest 52D trigger or not, but whoever did it, it's very easy to shoot with, and I'm more than satisfied with it.

A while back I read that the japanese rifles had different/safer' triggers than the winchester rifles. same with the shotguns. FWIW, and you probably know this already.

You would be correct, the 52R has a pin installed in the trigger to limit the pull weight. AKA Lawyer Pin.
