Whidden?

Outstanding dies. Internal finish is excellent and they are very well made. I have a set in 6mm Dasher for use on my 600/1000 yard rifle! The next set of dies I purchase will definitely be Whidden.

I like them but I also really like my Forster shoulder bump die and I like the Forster seater a little more than the Whidden.

I pick up a FL bushing sizer and the quality of the machine work is great. I was happy enough that I bought a set for my 6 Creedmoor.

i brought the whidden 6BRX FL bushing die and seater
the FL bushing die is awesome with less the .001 run out but i did have problems with their seater die, wouldn't give me repeatable seating and it was causing run out
pulled apart and the stem to have burrs on it and the part that holds the bullet tip to be bent causing the run out , the burrs where causing the stem to drag against the side of the die causing different seat depths, also the top of the stem was burred and there was a bit of metal that wasn't machined off
emailed whidden and sent a new stem straight away and could be happier with service , still waiting for new stem to turn up

Their over rated. Wilson straight line seater and neck die are the best for concentricity, and cost less.;)
I'll disagree on that one. An out of the box stock Wilson seating die has too much slop for my custom chambers and is prone not to make concentric ammo, that's why I have Sid Goodling make custom dies for all my calibers.

I like Whidden Dies and have them in .22-250, 6mmBR Norma, 6.5x47 Lapua and .308. I am about to order a set of 6PPC. I also have Wilson neck size dies and seaters also for all but the .22-250. Easier to carry to the range with an arbor press.

I would really like to get some if they made them for my 6-284. Last time I talked to them it was a no go.

Won't they make a Custom Set for you in 6x284? Seems they only want three fired cases and or the reamer print. On their web site there is no caliber selection / option on their Custom Die page like there is on their standard die page.

I prefer the Whidden dies over any other, after I used a set of Whidden dies for the first time I quickly sold my Redding and Forster die sets and replaced them with Whidden. Top notch products and even better customer service!

I like the sizing die just fine. I hate the seating dies that I have. I’m not exaggerating on hate. Seating stems damage bullets. I sent them bullets to copy. Try to adjust seating depth, it often slips and fails to bring the stem screw with the micrometer. Great design, but the two I have are not as good as the basic rcbs dies I used in highschool.

I got a 219 D. Wasp benchgun that was different than the “Standard” long or short Wasp. I sent a fired case to Whidden and they made me a FL bushing die that works fine.
