Whidden FL bushing die

I recently purchased a Whidden fl bushing die for my 6br. Getting different neck tensions with the .266 bushing I ordered. So wanting to switch to expander ball instead. The die came with an expander but I was wondering if I bought the expander kit from Whidden if I would need to purchase another die fl no bushing die or could I just remove bushing from current die and just ran expander on it. Thanks

You are seeing variance due to neck thickness differences... If you are dead set against turning necks then you can simply use the current die you have and just ensure that you use a bushing small enough that you feel a tiny amount of resistance when coming down onto the expander.

If you feel a bit of resistance already with your current bushing then take all this to the bench and see how your results look.

No need to purchase another die as you have the luxury with your bushing die of adjusting the amount of squeeze , also in the event you don't see the results you were hoping for by using an expander and wish to turn necks you are already in a good position with your bushing die.

Good luck.

If I get varying neck tension with a bushing die and Lapua brass, it is time to anneal. I always anneal brass before loading as brass will harden with age.
