Whidden Case Gauge

Sorry, been partial to LE Wilson gauges all my life so far.

I've tried the Wilson gauges and similar ones, but I can't get a repeatable number that I can trust. When I use these type gauges, my readings vary +/- 0.0015".

I have a Whidden Case Gauge that I am able to get repeatable numbers with and feel it is an asset along with a few other methods/tools for setting my die to measure case bump. Although its main use is to measure a fired case to determine how close my chamber is to SAAMI specification. I have never used the RCBS Gauge so I can't comment on that one.

I have used the RCBS precision mic, and the Whidden case gage looks similar in design.

My question is how is this a better arrangement than a comparator? Whidden ships one with their die sets, which I have been using satisfactorily.

Thanks.
