Which scope ......?

Hi Guys
New to the site and just got my first 6mm br i will be shooting at the moment 400 mtrs max and would like sugestions on which second hand scope would be best. And as i do a lot of fox shooting would i be better with sticks ,bipod or sand bags as this gun is a quite abit heavier than my 22-250 or should i just keep the 6mm for target .......Any thoughts would be helpful
best regards

ps (ive got this thread in scops and optics cos i was'nt sure where to post it )

If you cannot afford a nightforce or leupold, trya weaver fixed 36 power used or a used bushell in 8-32 power,or a sightron sII 6-24 power or higher.

In my experience, any fixed power, high magnification scope is useless for varmint hunting. In most cases the field of view is so small, that locating the critter, in the scope, is very difficult. The variable scopes mentioned above would be my choice.

i'd say save the 6Br for bench/target use it would tiring to carry sand bags ... sticks an bi pods is the way to go... the 22-250 should all you need for fox with the rite bullet anyway..

scope wise.. the 36T Weaver is a great start.. more expensive if you can afford it but i don't think its the way to go... if you can find a older Jap BL with a retical you like its a touch better then the Weaver

I agree with Doc on this, buy a 5.5-22X56 nsx nightforce and for the distances mentioned you could use the rifle for both competition and fox hunting. I would buy a front rest and rear bag for competing and a bipod for hunting. I haven't looked at your profile yet but I gather your from Europe? if so I have a 5.5-25X56 S&B PMII that I just love, you can probably buy it cheaper in Europe then a NF scope and there simply the best! Oh by the way welcome to the forum :)
