Which rings do I need

I have a cz457 I purchased a while back, I bought an area 419 pic rail,… 20moa I think, I picked up a used Athlon Cronus, 34mm tube 56mm ob,… what ring Hight do I need?… I heard the bolt handle can be an issue. I believe I also bought a bigger bolt knob from area 419 as well. Any suggestions appreciated before I measure twice and buy wrong 3 times.

Ring height is a personal preference. I will say that I had that exact same setup on my son's rifle and I started with Vortex Precision Matched Rings 1.1". They were high enough to clear the bolt handle, but for comfort I switched to 1.26". But I also have his 457 mounted in an XLR Element Chassis.

If you want to use the penny method, that would let you know what height you need to clear the bolt and give you a good idea of what height fits your natural shouldering of the rifle

That rail is already pretty tall. Put it on the rifle and improvise some spacers and set the scope on them. That will show how much clearance you have. As luvdog said, ring height is personal preference too.

The rifle is at my ranch and I’m in town for a few days was just hoping someone had maybe mounted one like it and would know. I wanted to order some rings today. But I can drive the 80 miles and measure it, thank you both for your input and thoughts. I appreciate it.

Hitting the scope with the bolt handle should not be a problem since I think the 457 has a 60 degree throw. Bolt in photo is fully open.

The Bolt has never been installed but I thought I read somewhere it was an issue but from your picture it isn’t so thank you. Maybe it was the 527 I read that on at any rate I don’t have to worry about that, I think I’ll stop by my LGs and pickup a medium set and a high set if that don’t work I’ll measure, then I’ll order the brand I want. Thanks everyone.

Burris Signature XTR rings 0 up to 40 MOA in the rings No scope marks ever. All I have on my rimfire's. 1" height should work.

My LGs doesn’t sell those but I think Sportsman’s do I’ll drive up there and see.
