Which rifle stock gunsmith?

I recently bought a custom 6mmBR and the stock broke in shipping.

I am looking to send my barreled action to a reputable gunsmith to have a new custom wood stock put on. The stock was a Laminate BR style stock, made by Richard Franklin, that was pillar/glass bedded, absolutely beautiful stock.

I would like ideas on what BR style stock to have installed and by what gunsmith! I am looking to spend between $800-$1000 to get something that is comparable to what I previously had.

Thanks!

A lot of bad breaks can be fixed and hardly noticeable when finished..
Joel Russo can do a good a job as any with a MBR stock.... if he's to busy get in touch with me....

I called West Custom three times quite a while ago to have him do the work and he kept giving me the run around. All three times he said I will send you an email with instructions and my info. I haven't got one email from him, even after I had sent him multiple emails. I also gave him my email all three times on the phone, so I think having him do it is out of the question.

I too build custom rifles (metal work) and have used Joel Russo with great success but it took quite a bit of time. Worth the wait.

I had a customer use Carl Bernowsky and his stock also looked great.

Stock making takes a lot of time and skill to do them right.

You might also try Ray Bowman at Precision Rifle and Tool, Mebane, NC.
