WHICH CHAMFER TOOL? PHOTO OF TWO

Can you tell me where you got that noon VLD chamfer tool (short one)? Been looking for a couple.
I have one of the NON-vld inside case mouth de-burring bits, and it's made by Hornady..

RCBS and LYMAN also make some,.. but some of them are for hand use only and don't have a way to chuck into a drill.

Those chamfer tools shown have the threaded shaft for a handle, but they should fit into the threads on a "brass processing station". I use both, but really prefer the one on the left, even for flat based bullets.
Yea, the VLD style angle work best for allowing the bullet to rest on before seating.

I dont know why they call the pointy version 'VLD' because my understanding is VLD bullets have boat tails and only need a narrow chamfer to deburr the inside lip. The tapered rear cone of the bullet will set inside and center during seating.
However the flat base bullet can benefit from a wider chamfer from the tapered 'VLD' tool and thats when you use this one.

I have the same double ended one. Only thing I would change is to put a couple of flats 180 degrees from each other so it would stop rolling off my reloading bench

I feel the inside of the case neck and mouth is very important for accuracy. So I prefer to chamfer the inside of the case neck by hand (not power tools). Gives me more control over the cut. And I have found the Holland tool with the carbide cutter with cutting edges very close together, to give the best taper and finish.

Those are the standard rocket-ship type deburring tools. You can get them double-ended (male/female) or Hornady (and probably others) has singles that are designed to mount to their motorized prep center (that also work well for chucking into your Dewalt drill.)

I think i have tried about 6-7 diff makes over the last 10 years. IMO hands down the best cutting rocket ship is the LE Wilson. It also has a sleeve and drill stem attachment can buy for extra.
I also have a K&m 'VLD with the guide rod and drill attachment but recommend practicing on junk cases first because you can ruin a case fast until get the knack. Never tried a carbide cutter. That will be next when the Wilson wears out. They steel ones dont last forever as they will lose their fine edge.
