Which brass would you buy?

Sorry to repeat myself, but I'm new here and I must say that the learning curve is steep!!

Another question from the rookie to the vets:

New brass, looking to purchase about 100ct from someplace like Midway, Cabela's or similar, What would you choose? Federal, Remington, Winchester, Nosler, or ?????

I have a set of redding bushing dies coming from Sinclair. I want to keep it simple at first so even though I got some "fancy" dies coming, I need to learn the basics first.

The rifle: .22-250 Savage Mod12LRPV,Long Range Precision Varminter) with a 1" dia SS 1:12 barrel

The Nosler Brass is by far the best of all that you mentioned. It is very consistant in every way that I have checked it and I am not just a re-loader. I consider myself to be a precision handloader even with regular rifles.

You will probably want to do some browsing for prices, try Natchez Shooters Supply, Midsouth Shooters Supply, Bruno's Shooter Supply, more target/match stuff and good $$$). Ive heard good and bad about Nosler brass, Id buy Lapua first and its probably cheaper. Looks like Lapua would be about $14-15 less per hundred through brunos than buying Nosler.

Overall I would go with Lapua.

Winchester brass for the .308 and Lake City brass for the 5.56/.223 if I need all the powder capacity that I can get, like in compressed loads.

I've noticed that Nosler's quality is pretty variable. It's like they're getting their brass made by different vendors and having it headstamped with their name. And they're pretty proud of it, price wise. I'd pass on it at the present time.

I have had good luck just shooting Federal factory ammo to obtain the brass....
It all needs to be fired once before you can get serious anyways........

That is exactly what I was planning on doing to start out, maybe I'll just just stick with that plan for a while. I can get the Federal rounds anywhere between .80cents to just over a $1 a piece when you break it down.
