Where's the oops, humor thread?

Went to the range the other day. 40 nice perty reloads of mine in tow. Got all set up. Bags, spot scope chrono and rifle out. Pulled the first round out of the box and noticed a little dribble of h414 powder. Anyone quest where it came from.

Thats right up there with going to a match across country and forgetting your bolt....

...or going to the range and find you forgot ammo. Even worse, after driving back home to get it you drive back to the range only to discover in your haste you grabbed the wrong box.:(
Not that I would do such a thing!!!!!

Or the time a guy in front of me in a pick-up, in town of 20,000 left his tailgate down. When he accelerated thru the green light from a stop, his rifle case slid out and landed in the street in front of me. I had to stop to keep from running it over. By the time I got out and picked it up, he was gone. I took it to the Police department. By the time they checked it in as "lost" he had called them to report it lost. Whew, lucky for him I did not consider it manna from heaven!

Go to a BR competition and forget your front rest...

Some good competitors are around, those are ones who share and/or bring a spare.

Pour ball powder in the auto charge dispenser after forgetting to close the little trap door thingy. This is related to oil changes with the oilpan plug left out.

How about a 45 min. ATV drive, walk about 1 1/2 miles. Daylight approaching, get set up. Where's my backpack?! Where's my backpack? That's OK, I don't need my knife, ammo, lunch and license. First morning of elk season...Bummer!

I went to sight in an AR15 with a red dot the other day.......not very easy when you don't bring a spotting scope with. Luckily the range rents them for $1, which was about what it was worth. I'm so used to sighting in scopes, that it never occurred to me to grab the spotter.

Or your stool that you set out meaning to load and the wife interrupted your concentrate process with a list of things she wants from the store when your get back. YIKES!

One tip for you guys who shoot Savage CF rifles I'll pass on a little trick I've discovered. Instead of removing the ejector so you don't have search for your expensive brass in the weeds or fling it across the bench simply install the bolthead 180 out.

I was 13 years old, got out of bed, ate a great breakfast, walked about 7 to 8 miles down to the shore of the Potomac river, made my blind on the shore, got my rod and reel ready to cast out and retrieve ducks and geese. Loaded my .22, WHOOPS, no shells!
You have no idea how mad a 13 year old boy can get! It's funny now, but sure wasn't then:D.

Not really an oops but a slap on the forehead... My wife has always shot clays. I have not so she bought me a clays gun.

Came back from practicing the other day. I also took my FTR rifle and got some practice in. Little frustrated with the clays and remarked how nice it felt to shoot tiny groups with my FTR rifle......

" it's a rifle! Anyone can do that. All you have to do is put the cross hair on the dot and pull the trigger.... " o_O

We had a surprise gender reveal for our family and friends. There was a box full of tannerite with the appropriate colored chalk in it and my job was to shoot it. I show up at my parents house with my br, rest and bag. Everyone starts gathering together for the event and I realized my bolt was twenty minutes away on the reloading table.... Luckily I was saved by the old truck gun that travels with me during deer season!

My "if it's cheap, it's ok", buddy peruses the Gun Library on Cabela's, spots an Anschutz 1517, 17HMR and has it shipped from Kansas to Pa to check out and possibly purchase. It's advertised as NIB. We travel up, it looks good, all orginal box and paperwork in order, I hammer him on the quality of Anschutz and he makes the purchase. The highly anticipated day arrives for the first test. Go to the gun club, get set up & I hear "this better be worth the money". Click, nothing happens. Wait a bit, chamber another round, same "click". "Let me see that rifle". Well what do you know, NO FIRING PIN! Don't know where that "OOPS" happened along the line but after shelling out the bigger bucks he was not a happy camper and the eyeball daggers were being thrown in my direction. Cabela's made good but it took more than a few phone calls and a few weeks to get the part.
On another note, I should probably post this in the "Buyer Beware" thread. You just never know when Murphy will raise his ugly head.

Decided on Friday night to go to a match on Saturday.. First one in 4 years. Drove 2.5 hrs. Got there and realized I did not have brass or bullets. Brought powder and primers though. Two of my best friends said , I have some brass, the other one said ,I have some bullets you can have. Guess who won the match. If a mans wealth is measured by the character of his friends, I may have Trump beat.
