where to buy...

Im getting some barrels made for a switch barrel and want to get a few thread protectors for the breech end of the barels when they arent on the rifle... where would i find some of these?Or do i need to get the smith to make them?

I want some stainless steel ones that match up to the barrel when threaded on... then i want to cerakote it with the barrels when i get that done.... that way it matches and looks good...

Kelbly's chambers my barrels and they come back with screw on Delrin covers on the chamber end. Sinclair sells them, called "barrel caps" page 250 in 2014-B catalog.$9.95 each.

Barrel bags are a nice item too....same price

Although not stainless, old GI plastic canteen caps work good. They are a perfect fit for M2 barrels in case you have one of those laying around.

i think thats what my gunsmith had mentioned... i was looking for them earlier today but didnt know what they called em... may be what i gotta do.. not sure yet... my smith is gonna look into making me some out of stainless and put a sloppy thread on the protectors where they wont really be able to get too too tight.. see what he comes up with..

Personally, if I were going to make breech thread protectors, I'd go with Delrin. Way easier to machine than SS or even aluminum. Who cares what a spare barrel looks like when it's not on the rifle? No offense, but going the SS route sounds kinda extreme to me.
