We use this stuff all over the vehicle in the BSR (buzz squeak and rattle) lab to quiet itching or squeaking noises. It works especially well on areas of the dashboard that may come in contact with the windshield.I used to use the tan/brown style until a buddy introduced me to this stuff. Does not have the threads and is translucent so you can see the wood of your stock.

I didn't see what type adhesive it uses but the 4" roll would be pretty ideal for 3 inch forearm guns. I have an industrial supply place in a town nearby. Was in there one day when they brought out a roll for a maintenance man at a nearby factory. He sold it to him by the foot and there were several feet left on the roll. I asked how much and he gave it to me. I've been working off of that roll for probably close to 10 years! For shipping, a sheet would work best but if you can find a small roll like you linked with silicone adhesive, it'll last ya for a really long time.
Yes! .003 and .006 thick. I bought both just to see which is best. Thank you.Be careful of the adhesive. Same tape but some adhesives are damn near impossible to remove without damaging the finish. I use the stuff with silicone adhesive ONLY. It sticks well but can be removed. I think McMaster Carr has it.
Rub that stuff down good with teflon powder ideally or even powdered carnuba(sp) and it'll get really slick. Or, as is it pretty good too.
Here ya go.

I'm not even sure what mine is but it seems a tad thick, if anything. I'll check it and post it here shortly. Just guessing but yeah, .018 sounds way too thick and it may not conform well to the edges of the stock. I'll be back. Lol!.18 to thick ya think?
Yep, I bought .003 n .006You made me go find it! I usually keep some in my range box but no dice there. I found it though. Looks like mine is the .006, best I can tell.
I'd try the .003 but I know the .006 works well. It just seems a little thick on the stock. I've got to put an order together today for McMaster. I'll add a piece of the .003 to it and see how it does.

Yeah, 3/16" is kinda thick..18 mm = approximately. 007"
There may be something but the ugly brown is the best for the purpose that I've found, especially if you really rub in some teflon or carnuba powder. The fabric will hold the powder somewhat if you rub it in good. That's some slick stuff like that. I don't care for the looks either but it's enough better that I live with the looks. I consider it almost a must on hot, humid days, when the gun just wants to stick in the bags. It really makes a big difference.![]()

I wanted black. It blends in better with my stocks.
I'm sure it'd be fine..18 mm = approximately. 007"

There are some clears or semi clears but I haven't found any that works as well as the ugly brown stuff.
