Where is the F-class "super bowl"?

Being new to this sport I had just figured that the nationals for f-class would have been held at Camp Perry, but I just learned that this is the only year they are allowing it. So where is the biggest f-class shoot held?

This year it is at Raton, NM, it has also been at Lodi, WI. I think last yr may have been there. This yr the Perry shoot is a regional and they may do it again depending on how it goes and the interest. The NRA really doesn't seem to know what they are doing with us.

I haven't heard where the 2013 will be held yet, it may be that Raton has got a multi yr lock on it.

Thanks. It would be nice if they had a more long term schedule to let you know where it's going to be held

I'm assuming it's more money driven as to why it's held where it is every year? How many competitors do they generally participate?

F-Class National Championships
FCNC 2010 Sacramento, CA
FCNC 2011 Lodi, WI
FCNC 2012 Raton, NM
FCNC 2013 Raton NM just preceding the 2013 World Championship also in Raton NM.

Also, the Berger SW Nationals in Phoenix the first weekend in Feb each year for the past two, and 2013.

Those are the two must attend matches in the United States.

The F-Class Nationals would have to be the super bowl because that's where the National Championship Trophies are. The FCNC floats around to different clubs that have the facilities, volunteers and desire to handle it.

The Berger Southwest Long Range Nationals will most likely always be in Phoenix. It's a must attend because it's just a flat out fun match to shoot! Not to mention it has a great prize table.

I'm not exactly positive on the numbers, but I think the F-Class Nationals had about 151 shooters this year.
The SWLRN had about 200 total participants, but about 100 of those were not F-Class shooters.

Hopefully in the near future ill be able to attend some of these shoots either as a spectator or a shooter. I think just being there one way or the other would be a blast!

Thanks for the info.

The reason FCNC are not held in one place is to move it around so that no one group/area has a 'home field' advantage every year, and to open it up to people who may not be able to travel half-ways (or more) across the country every year. Generally it alternates between east and west every couple years... 2009 it was in Butner SC, 2008 Lodi Wi, 2007 Raton NM, 2006 Sacramento CA, etc.

As to why its *not* at Perry... in the past F-Class wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms, and now things are the way they are. The event is getting to the point where the number of firing points, available parking and support facilities may start limiting which ranges *can* host it. Places like Raton (100 firing points), Butner (50 firing points), Ben Avery, etc. can manage without having to run 6 relays which makes for a looooong week. Ranges with 'only' 20 or so firing points like Sacramento or Lodi can squeak by with some inventive squadding - or by limiting entries. I don't think it's came to that yet... yet.

The F-Class Super Bowl title will have to go the 2013 F-Class World Championships (23-27 August 2013) in Raton, NM next year. This will be just after the 2013 FCN (18-23 August 2013). Picture 300- 400 F-Class shooters.

Make plans to attend. See & shoot with/beat the best in the world.
