Still have a couple Nortons so I use the Lucas electrics and Amals every time I ride.

Out of the three English scooters, a Norton Commando was far and away what I wanted. Had a BSA 441 Shooting Star and have the scars on my right knee to prove it. If you didn't use the compression release when kicking it over that thumper would hurt you.

I hope if he's out on the scooter it's a new version Triumph Trophy 1200 SE, but I bet not. Love mine. The days of brit bikes going dead as I like to say, "every time someone spits in the middle of the road", are over now. Not true with the Commando I had though.
