Where did Q.C. go in .22LR?

Something with the primer compound had to be changed, government chit,
Even the high end 22's suck more than they did.
Lapua ftf gets me every box at least once.

I bought a new Remington 541T in '93, along with a case of Win Super-X hi vel HP ammo. That one particular lot of Super-X shot really great in the new 541, the only time any of the copper-washed hi vel ammo I've had shot that good. I don't recall ever having a FTF with that stuff though. If I could buy Win Super-X today that shot as good as that lot did, I'd tone-down my bitching about not being able to find SK & Lapua ammo just a bit - but only just a bit...lol The way things are going in Europe, things may not get a whole lot better as far as the match grade 22RF ammo supply goes.

Winchester quality across product lines seems to have gone down a lot, they used to make pretty good brass, no more, I got some 9mm 124gr GI type ammo a while ago the crimps varied wildly. Seems like these 22’s are consistent. Duds are rare with CCI std velocity for me and non existent for Lapua Center X.

Back in the 80's I ran a ton of bulk ammo through a Ruger mkII pistol. Failure to fires were common no matter who made the ammo, Remington was horrible.

In the last four years I've been through several cases of SK Std. Plus and haven't had a single failure to fire.

Winchester 22LR ammo seems to be known for FTF in Cold Weather Below 40 degrees. I was shooting it in a S&W revolver and had numerous FTF 32 degrees. Buddies said it was known for it.
