Im always torn between loving manson reamers and never wanting to deal with those stupid clips againim gonna try it — with the little clips its a challenge to install them to. i have a itty bitty needle nose i use.

I imagine you could do the same to the reamers, but I don't want to be the one to figure it out.
They grind them. No problem on a hardened reamer to grind a clip slot. D&T aint happeningI suspect it would be quite an interesting exercise trying to D&T a teeny tiny hole like that into a hardened HSS reamer. Manson will convert solid to removable pilot, so it must be possible unless they anneal then re-do the heat treat.
thanks for that info Walt. i will practice more. i use the little ones —. first i have to get a pound of them. lolManson is not the only one to use c-clips. JGS uses them on some reamers. I prefer them. They let a lot more oil pass by. I have removed and installed so many it is no big deal. All the carbide reamers I have use c-clips.

i use pin gages for a preliminary ideaThey're especially annoying on a grizzly rod when you're trying several bushings to see what fits best... I drilled mine out and put a screw in it. I imagine you could do the same to the reamers, but I don't want to be the one to figure it out.
mabie ill ask dave if they have a install/removal toolThey grind them. No problem on a hardened reamer to grind a clip slot. D&T aint happening
