I have been shooting a 6BR for a few years now in F-Open midrange competition and have just received my new 6 Dasher build. I would consider myself an experienced hand loader but I also know that I learn something new everyday. I have fire formed 43 rounds so far with the false shoulder method and I am getting decent blow lengths of 1.547-1.548 so I consider that acceptable on that note. My question is how many firings do you put on your newly fire-formed brass before you start your load development? I would think you would need at least 2 so that you are at full dimensions with your cases when you begin, maybe even 3 depending on how it is blowing out. I say this because within those first couple of firings your internal case capacity is changing, effecting pressures thus effecting POI and or shot group. I really do not want to put 240 rounds on this barrel just to be able to start load development if I can help it. Whats yall's opinion on this subject? Yes , yes I use the words y'all, cuze and aint : Mississippi breed, born and raised!!
