When do you need to go from a single screw rings...

The only reason I can see to use a single screw ring is to make weight in short range BR. If weight is not a factor the security of multiple screw rings is the way to go. To answer your question if you are going with a caliber much above a 6PPC recoil will be greater and be more likely to cause scope movement.

I agree with Danny. I've never had any slippage problems with single rings on my 6PPC BR rifles; in some cases, weight is everything! Don
