LEE PRECISION 90100 Powder Measure Kit, Yellow

You would be much further along with one of these kits.......They really do work well for feeding a beam scale.

Regards
Rick

It's a Lyman Accumeasure. They work, but.......each of the brass plugs has a fixed volume unless you modify them. There should be a chart that shows the amount of powder each numbered cavity should throw.

But you will need to verify what they actually throw. Don't be surprised if the chart is wrong, or QC was MIA and cavities are off dramatically. (Edit add: or possibly Bubba'd.)

I would not use it for magnum pistol or higher PSI rifle, but it should be OK for throwing a basic charge that you trickle to finish.

Also,if extensive testing shows that 5.4gr of powder X gives maximum accuracy in your 38 Special target loads, and your cavities will only bracket that load with 5.1 and 5.7gr, you need to decide if those are acceptable or if you find another way to get to 5.4gr.

Think I got 4 of them.... the "factory" rotors are just,OK.

But really come into their own if you can make your own rotors..... which, are a lot easier to make than the RCBS pistol measure.

They are VERY repeatable. The cavity diameter to depth ratio is of concern when looking for precision. Work great on top of a turret press with powder through expander die. The only rifle load I run, which one is dedicated to,18.8g IMR4198..... which ain't exactly the most cooperative of powders. It'll throw 9 out of 10 or so,deadnuts on a beam scale. They're a niche market/scale.... I'd pass if you're not able to make the rotors. Good luck with your project.

RCBS Uniflow. Comes with two different diameter rotor chamber *ID's. The outer diameters are the same..... well that's the idea. And yes, there's a threaded piece like a golf T.... this changes the internal cavity length.

In "practical" use, there's dimensional differences in the OD to where they may more or less feel the same but looking for precision, this rotor to casting clearance does effect the throw to throw consistency. You don't notice it until you have several.... not saying it's a problem, just a nuance. Any measure is going to need "running clearance".

* the logic here is use the chamber that most reflects the charge size.... rifles use a lot more powder= large chamber, pistols=small. Little more to it but that's why there's two available. The Accumeasure and others like this, are really aimed twds pistol charging.

Looks similar to an RCBS Little Dandy powder thrower. I have one and like it but you need separate brass drums if you plan on loading a large range of powders. It's ability to throw, volume wise, is limited to pistol and smaller rifle cartridges. I have measured charges from mine on my .02 + - scale and find it easily keeps within .1 gr. I like mine.

Belding and Mall, GREAT measures! Have two that I use more frequently than my two Harrells.
With ball powder, they consistently throw within .05gr. Stick powder more like -0.0/+0.2gr
Shears right through stick kernels on release.
Never tried a Harrells- had a Lyman BP55 that I thought was awesome ('cept on extruded), but the B&M makes it unnecessary.
Best throw i have ever used.
