There is a post about the high cost of shipping which is a cost of doing buisness. Then some one disagrees with whats said and gets nasty. Then the retourt is even nastier and stupid. People whats wrong with all of you be civil towards each other. If you disagree just say so and be done with it and the rebutal should also be civil. Yesterday there was a very nasty exchange between some people on BR.COM the people involved were voicing there opion about the Cooper thing then one poster I won't name got very rude and pointed and caustic. The post was pulled the way it should be.
We as a group need to be civil towards each other and direct our energy to swart the onslaught that is coming from the anti's. We need to stay civil because it can backfire in our faces.
Guys Postage and shipping is the way commerce works deal with it and go forward.

Well put.
3 pages of war were waged over the additional cost of maybe $3 or $4. What's the time spent complaining and bad mouthing worth? Instead of bad mouthing a vendor and then other members of this forum who disagree, why not write a polite, respectful letter to the vendor expressing dissatisfaction with the shipping costs? As a business owner, a customer's well written letter is more effective than a temper tantrum over the phone. Or a tyrade on a internet site. My $.026 as I mark up my shipping 30% also.

i agree with rayjay.AND why bag on a place that supports this site, over what, 10 bucks for shipping. they still have some good deals even with higher shipping. cliffe

After reading all the posts on this subject i feel that the replys are embarrising ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

O.K. If someone have a bad experiance with a dealer and voices there OPINION all that we ever do is bash them. If you are in bussiness you will have your supporters and naysayers. It is part of doing bussiness. Why is this person wrong? I dont like paying extra for shipping, times are tough, and for a hobby spending any extra means that you will get by with less. We bashed him for no good reason.

Maybe its time to take a break from this site, after all i voiced my OPINION.

The other day I ordered a barrel from Brunos. I was charged $17.89 for shipping and handling. I didn't complain or bash them. I realize its the cost of doing buisness today. The free ride is over my friends. I sell stuff here and on other sites and add shipping costs to the price as of yet no one has complained. If the did I would still charge the same. People thats buisness and the object is to make money. If you are rubbed the wrong way call them on it not on line.

I live relatively close to Bruno's,18 miles). A barrel is about $300, right? When I buy one, it takes me two gallons of gas to go back and forth,$5.50) and I pay sales tax at 8.1%,$27) so that's $32.50 and I don't have to pay shipping! You guys have it made! :)

Relax, enjoy the hobby and enjoy life. There are no Brinks trucks in funeral processions.

Amen German!

In California, gas is still nearly $4.00/gallon and sales tax is 8.25%. How can I complain when mail-order shipping is still less than the local sales tax... usually WAY less.

I will say that, where possible, flat-rate USPS packages make some sense.

On the other hand, for a small business owner, Fedex and UPS have significant advantages:

A. Vastly superior tracking
B. More responsive and reliable insurance,at least with FEDEX --and yeah Nat I know you disagree, but the 3 claims I've made with Fedex were all paid in full within 4 weeks.)
C. Better lable print software
D. Open Accounts with Aggregated billing -- Very important -- write one check at the end of the month for all shipping charges.

Here's my problem with airing dirty laundry on the internet about a supplier or manufacturer; you can affect their business negatively. Your problem hasn't been authenticated or verified and may even be a perceived problem. You've lost no skin in your remarks, whereas the recipient may have lost business unfairly.

The anonymity of the internet allows many to get bolder than they normally would and to insult others with no fear of reprisal. Allegations can be made with no proof to the other readers other than the poster's viewpoint.

You need to take a look at what this is...A FORUM! By defination a forum is "an opportunity for open discussion". If someone wants to complain or voice THEIR opinion then it's THEIR right to say how they feel about something. If it influences some other forum participants then so be it. IT'S A FREE COUNTRY. You want to see some real venomous hate speech trying to influence voters go to one of the left wing forums and see what they are saying about John McCain and Sarah Palin. At least we here are for the most part civil in our discussions.
One more thing before I get off my soapbox, you say "allegations can be made with no proof", well the fact is that Mr Cooper gave money to Obama's campaign that he got from gun buyers, and Obama is not a supporter of gun rights. Those are facts and proof of what other posters are saying. If you want to buy a Cooper go for it..help Mr Cooper try to recover. The rest of us who don't feel that way have a right to say so and not spend our $$$ at a place that supports a guy who wants to make it harder for us to enjoy our sport.

This is a MODERATED Forum. It exists only because I pay bills, every week, to keep it running. Participation is a privilege, subject to rules of good behavior, and always subject to my oversight.

The following comments are general in nature and NOT related to the Cooper dispute...

There have been cases when posters have gone ballistic about a manufacturer or vendor. In many cases, the complaining party had not even given the "other side" a reasonable opportunity to make things right.

This Forum exists to assist people in the shooting sports. This forum would not exist and I could not do my job without the ongoing support of many businesses. The Forum does not exist to be an unregulated soapbox to trash businesses,or private sellers) in a reckless or exaggerated manner. 99% of customer service complaints can and should be resolved between the buyer and seller. Oddly it seems that some persons feel the need to "go public" when they haven't even let normal processes work their course.

Moderator: you are absoultely right, the forum exists to assist people in the shooting sports, and it does a great job at that. I just hope we all still have something to shoot with if the Dem's take over the Whitehouse.
