Whats the difference???

I am planning on having my model 700, 260, trued and rebarreled. It is a standard action ie not stainless....the question is, is it any difference in a standard blued action and a stainless one? Other than the obvious weather resisting ability of the stainless?
then plans for the rifle are to kinda be a dual purpose....of course i want it as acurate as possible for target shootin (not neccesssarily for comp) but primarly hunting.
Also, can anyone recomend a good gunsmith in NC ???

there may be some difference in the hardness of the metal. other than that, they are about the same. i have a custom long action r700 in .300 win and i dont have any problems with it

Jamesh.....thanks! Had looked at that and was wondering if anyone had any dealings with someone here in NC that they were satisfied with, dont know much about gunsmithing....and dont want to get stuff done that is useless ya know!

Thanks again!!
