First Oliver North quits or is forced out at the convention, now Cris Cox resigns after being relieved of his duties last week and now they are also ending the relationship with the marketing firm and doing away with NRATV.
Are we going to need a new lobbying team to protect the Second Amendment?
This is certainly not the opportune time for the NRA to fall apart what with all the new laws they are trying to pass. I hope the Supreme Court shoots them all down. Laws not congress men.

Long list of dirty fingers in many pies.

- Just remember the members are the ones who need to keep up the pressure and fight. Can't sit back and let an organization made of people fight for you.

- When you can hide behind a big organization name you feel removed and unaccountable.

An audit is only as good as the figures in the books. Stalin was quoted as saying "As long as I get to count the votes, you can have all the elections you want."

I support Gun Owners of America (GOA). I became disenchanted with the NRA some time ago. I resent the endless solicitation and "the sky is falling, send money" messaging. The diversification to wine clubs, insurance, credit cards and all makes me wonder how they can maintain a 501.3c status. I am an NRA member primarily because it is required by the gun clubs that I belong to.

GOA does a much better job of keeping you informed of legislation activity.

Indeed the serious financial issues ARE most curious for several reasons. The NRA must be ever-certain that it is not run financially by individuals who are secretly indifferent or privately want to diminish it.

I have long wondered why so many of the great manufacturers of firearms seem to be run in the red as if to scuttle them.

Capitalism is one the freedoms we enjoy and that makes it easy to buy an interest in many companies.

If I could buy the Japanese whaling fleet then repurpose those ships I would in a heartbeat. Think about that for a minute, in terms of this industry we value so much.

Basically Untrue.......what arena of financial audit expertise do you come from?
Actually a normal audit is only to confirm that the financial statements were prepared in accordance wit established rules and procedures. An audit is pretty much useless to uncover collusion. You dont EVEN want to ask me about qualifications and experience.

North was trying to clean it up and get rid of the dead weight, LaPierre for one but it looks like all of the top brass got worried that they'd be next?!?!
I'd be surprised if more don't get out before it's over!!!

Independent Auditor's Report
We have audited the accompanying balance sheets of X Company as of December 31, 20X2 and 20X1, and the related statements of income, retained earnings, and cash flows for the years then ended. These financial statements are the responsibility of the Company's management. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audits. We conducted our audits in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America.

Those standards require that we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement. An audit includes examining, on a test basis, evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. An audit also includes assessing the accounting principles used and significant estimates made by management, as well as evaluating the overall financial statement presentation. We believe that our audits provide a reasonable basis for our opinion.

In our opinion, the financial statements referred to above, present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of X Company as of [at] December 31, 20X2 and 20X1, and the results of its operations and its cash flows for the years then ended in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.

If you read my original post you would have seen that I noted material. I've been around the block also...........sitting on both sides of the audit table.

Exactly , it's why I didn't sign up this year , not to mention I still haven't gotten my new cards or anything but the magazines for the past few years... Then they would call ALL the time to do polls etc till I told them to stop.... They need to get it together...

Ricco 1949 what world do you live in? Madoff had a perfect set of books.

Good example......not of a perfect set of books......but of incompetent fruadulent auditing.

Madoff engaged a tiny 2 partner auditing firm incapable of performing an audit of this size, one Madoff new he could control.

The firm never performed an audit under GAAP and ultimately pleaded guilty when charged.

The SEC was warned by some asute outsiders but failed to act accordingly and therefore owns much of the blame in this Ponzi debacle.

Done with this.

From the outside it looks like good old fashioned Greed, Corruption and Stupidity and with the worst timing!!!! But we'll probably never know the extent of it....

I would say look at the record . They have been trading favors with our second amendment rights for a very long time. All that time saying stand and fight.

The way I see it is you either stand and fight or do favors for politicians on the way to loosing

The NRA has been an important part of the shooting community for a long time but like any organization, company, shop or job site, fiefdoms develop and the host suffers. They are no different.
Hopefully they will pull out of this quagmire and be a stronger organization dedicated to protecting our rights.

What's the problem with the NRA??

It would be my guess that they are up against a huge movement to disparage them, make it impossible to do business, advertise in many venues, and operate as a respectable organization in large popular events.

Look at the "Trump Hate", and how the media has promoted the scenario to the point that a visit to the White House is treated as more of a dishonor than an honor. The NRA is up against the same movement, and so are we.

The left has tremendous power in our country, and their divide and conquer strategy is very effective. As a group, folks like us are often suspicious of large organizations, and admire individualism. Sadly, we are up against millions of lemmings who come together in "group think" even though their ideals are devoid of logic.

The NRA, sometimes doesn't seem to be exactly what we think it ought to be, but I don't think now is the time to turn our backs on it. We'd better stick together like never before if we're going to save what is dear to us. Forgive me the mention of politics, but the definition of modern liberal/leftist/Democrat has never been more clear. And as a group, they will no longer accept gun ownership the way that we want it. I shouldn't have to say more along these lines. I hope y'all will support the NRA. jd
