What's better in the dasher rl 15 or h4895.

My first Dasher barrel ran a load of H4895 (we call it 2206H in Australia). I don’t remember what the charge was, but I remember it shot 105’s best at 2950fps

I moved to Re15 a few years ago, I have found it to be excellent, particularly the velocity it can achieve. It’s the first powder I try.

With Re15 I can run the 105’s up to 3100fps before I hit pressure. With 2206H 2950fps was close to the top end.
I have my Re15 load throttled back to 3030fps which is easy on the brass and groups very tight.

As I use mine for F-open score shooting I’ll take that extra 80fps that Re15 gives me.

There are a few shooters locally that swear by AR2209 (H4350) with the 105’s. I haven’t tried it myself but it might be worth a try as well

Just switched one of my Dashers from Varget to Reloader 15. Why? Why not?

Just wanted to try something different and it is. Found a load that works better at 600 with the Reloader 15. Never choreographed it yet but will. More interested in groups and not speed.

One issue I do not like is the gooey goop in the barrel left by Reloader 15. I mean flat out liquid goo brought out with BoreTech C4 and other carbon cleaners. It comes out rather easily. Varget and H4895 also do that but not to the degree I found using Reloader 15.

Well guys, I got lucky. One of my friends found a 8# of Varget for me at a local shop. I had 4# left so I should be good for a couple years if all goes well. I also discovered I have over 5 # of reloder15 that I use in one of my .308 varmint deer hunting very accurate target barrel.

I remember testing the 15 in that barrel and it was extremely dirty for sure,,, until I found the magic load in a ladder test. Once settled on the charge weight it was pretty darn clean burning, almost like Varget.
