what's a good manufacturer load for a browning x-bolt .308 Win

hi

I just recently bought a Browning X-bolt in a .308 Win caliber, I mounted a Swarovski z3, i started to dial in the gun with the scope with a Winchester Super X Power point 180 Grain. by doing 4 shots on 25 yards and 8 shots on 100 yard i got down to a 2,5 inch pattern.

my question is now: what is a good factory ammunition for the browning x-bolt .308 win - who has tried different load's and what was the experience - with respect to accuracy.

any help appreciated.

I use 44 grains of Reloader 15 ,Federal case, Winchester primer Sierra 168 bthp. My rifle is 11.25 twist 24 inch barrel Chronograph load at 2728 fps
It works great for me out to 600 yards

I don't use factory ammo but my best friend does. He's had great success with Federal Premium with 150 grain bullets in the 308 for hunting applications.

Each rifle is unique. Buy half a dozen boxes of ammo and shoot 'em. Let your rifle tell you what it likes, and then buy a bunch of it.

Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Federal Gold Medal Match with a 168 or 175 gr Sierra Matchking. This is not a hunting round, if that's what you're looking for (you didn't say).

Try the Hornady 165 BTSP & 150 same. That ammo has performed pretty well in my factory rifles & it's fairly reasonably priced. I'm talking hunting ammo here. For best accuracy, I would agree with the others that the Sierra MK 168 BTHP loads are probably best. I have also had good results with Hornady A-Max ammo in 155 & 168 grain.

while I am in the process to dial in the scope to the rifle - I stay with target shooting 100 to 200yards

I will tray the Federal Gold Medal Match and Sierra Matchking as next step to see also how accurate the rifle is.

later i am planing to hunt also with the x bolt 308.

I have been shooting Hornady Superformance Match A-Max , 168gr, in match competition, quite impressed with it for factory ammo. This was with a borrowed Savage Model 12, while I was waiting for my rifle to come in. Had some 0.5 MOA groups.
