What would YOU use?

I'm in the middle of re-barreling a Rem. 700 action using a 17.00" 8 twist barrel chambered in 308W to shoot heavy 30 cal. bullets, 200-230 gr. BTW, This rifle will wear a suppressor most of the time. My question is what scope would you use if you had this setup? I have rings in both 1" and 30mm but I'm trying to not break the bank here. Any replies would be appreciated but if you recommend a particular scope, please tell me why as I'm here to learn like everyone else.
Thanks in advance,
Lloyd

Hey Lloyd,

My brother and I do a little coyote hunting at night. One suggestion regardless of tube diameter would be illumination. Even a dot in the middle of the crosshairs helps a lot. We have used non illuminated reticles with laser genetics sub zero laser lights and flood lights. While they work, it is a bit of a challenge. My brother has a leupold vxr and is happy with it. I have an SIII with an illuminated reticle in 3.5-10x and it is good also. Hope you had a good year, I didn't make it to a single match this year. Maybe next year... Good luck coyote hunting too, loads of fun.

Hey Ryan, Have U had that scope out yet? How do U like it?
Let's go after some yotes . ;D...It's like sterio howling in all the woods
around the house. With this full moon the nightforce gets out
past 600. ;) Later, John
