what will a Co-Ax do that RockChucker will not?

case will 'float' until lock up allowing for a better alignment...according to some. More strength due to design...according to some. Cost more...according to everyone.

1) No shell holders. But, you can still use if you want. I have had no need to.
2) Free floating dies in the horizontal plane. Can center self before pressure is applied.
3) Dies snap in and out. No screwing in and adjusting. Die with secured lockring already on it just snap in and out. Much faster than screw-in dies.
4) Free floating shell jaws in the horizontal plane. Along with floating die, shell and die can easily align with one another.
5) Very clean and easy to use depriming arrangement.
6) Excellent priming arrangement if you choose to use. Always sets primer to same depth.

I like that the handle and yoke is dead centered over the cartridge. Little flex in the design that I can see. This press does not cam over. I measured it with a test indicator to learn this.

Disadvantages? The Redding Instant Indicator won't fit the press, and the Hornady collet style bullet puller is a little awkward to use (I have no trouble). Best to use Forster die lock rings for best fitment in the press. Not an issue for me as I prefer Forster lock rings vs anything else anyway, and most of my dies are Forster with their rings already on the die. Some people find operation of the press awkward, but I don't at all. Maybe I would like the ergonomics of another press better, but don't know.

The big advantages...

1. The ONLY time a primer hits the floor is when I spill new ones getting them out of the packaging. The dirty ones ALL end up in the little bottle. Its a very clean press because of this.

2. The way the dies slide in and out of the press is SWEET!! It can be swapped in seconds. The lock ring can be tightened and it duplicates the prior batch EXACTLY. I use Hornady lock rings and they do great, and they are cheap.

3. No play or twisting at all. Extremely rigid.

The things I don't like.

1. Swapping between large base shell holder and small base is a pain. Instead of just swapping shell holders you take the thing loose (2 screws) flip it over on the bench (I forgot that its best to back off the screw that opens the jaws before removal), keep track of the screws, 2 springs, and the bottom plate as you rotate the two halves of the shell holder 180 degrees, and reverse the above to re-install the assembly IF you can align the screw holes. It is less than elegant.

2. It feels less roomy that a rock chucker when using it. I adapt by using one hand to place the case, operate the handle, and remove when finished.

Anyway, I won't give up my Co-ax, and I wouldn't want another press. The plus side out weighs the bad for me.
