What triggers for Accutrigger replacement?

My accutrigger is set to about 1 1/2#. I don't like it. The blade has me gunshy. All my rifles go bang when I pull the trigger. Not this one. Pull, pull, pull--then bang, usually after monster flinch. Bahh. Anyway, what one would you suggerst. Looked at Rifle Basix and Timney. Maybe I can just remove the dang blade. Any others? Thanks. Ron.

Some have had good results in accutrigger modification to the main spring. I have done this to a couple of mine before I went to the rifle basix2
I'm sure if you google it or look on youtube you can find a lot of info on this mod.

I've worked on both of my Savage Accu-triggers - a 12BVSS and a PTA. Polished the sear and trigger, lubed pivot point, etc. They are apparently lighter than the blade spring tension because both fire as soon as the blade gets depressed.

Be very careful if you remove the red blade as it will fire if you manipulate too fast.It may work for John but mine is dangerous like that and I am putting the blade back in for safety reasons. Actually I vote against it as a serious hazard that could get some one killed or injured in a bad circumstance!

Removing the blade will have no effect on improving trigger pull. It will only make it dangerous when set to the lightest weight

Rifle basix Sav-2. About the best you will get for a savage IMO

Also, I recommend leaving the blade in the Accu-trigger. You usually can polish up the accu-trigger a little and have a nice trigger, not like a Sav-2 though.

I did not find rifle basix to be an improvement. You can remove the blade and get a lighter more familiar trigger pull..You can set the trigger much lighter..It will eventually (1000 or so rounds) stop functioning...Then pull it out of the stock and reset the pull 1/8 turn resume business..I shot my BVSS223 nearly 3000 rounds with minimum problems..LT

I'm sure it will depend on the type of shooting you do.
The OP does not like his accutrigger.
For target shooting the rifle basix 2 will adjust down to 4 oz.
I have not been able to get a standard accutrigger even after modifying to be in the ball park with the Sav-2

Someone will have to explain how removing the blade can give a lighter pull?

I certainly don't want to be unsafe. Leaving blade in would prevent, or minimize that aspect. Since it is for benchrest, that may not be a big problem, but still exists. Maybe I will try to clean it up a little & see how that goes. Just got back from the range, and it (the trigger) bit me again. Touched the blade, no bang, jump, and then bang when I hit the real trigger. I know this is my hangup, but it is what it is. Will look into Basic, seems Timney not as popular. Thank you for all the tips. Ron.
