- I'm going to be trying RL-26 & RL-33, IMR-8133 & V/V 24N21 for powders.
230 gr. Berger Hybrid Target, 230 gr. (new) Sierra, Possibly 215 & 210 Berger's for bullets.
I'll be running an Ackley Improved version in 1-9 twist Krieger 30" barrels (1 ea. 5R & 1 ea. 4 groove).
Will be using a BAT Model "M" and a NF Comp scope. -
My Reamer should arrive soon from JGS & I'm waiting till probably July on my barrel blanks. - Have a Spot reserved with my gunsmith. - Have Peterson Brass In-Hand & Lapua Brass on Pre-Order at two places.

- Ron - (I ran some Q/L calc.'s - Reloader 33 looks to produce the higher velocity of all the powders.)

im running 90gr RL-33 with the 230HT @2920fps. Federal Mag primer produced beer results that WLRM for me

What barrel length ?
Standard 300 Norma Mag ? OR an Improved Version ?
What kind of accuracy ? At what test range(s) ?
Did you try any other powders besides RL-33 ? And if so what were the results ?

I've finally got all my parts for this together but am waiting on 2 other builds components as I'm going to have 3 different projects done at the same time in my reserved slot with my gunsmith.

Std 300NM Norma brass, yes, soft and primer pockets expand
Retumbo and H1000 , couldn't get the speed with these
better results with Federal primers Champion and GMM MAG

I run 91grs of R-33 with a 230 Berger in Norma brass and 92grs in 423 Dakota brass. This is a 338 Norma cases necked down to 30 with a 35 degree shoulder. R-33 likes to run close to the rifling. I'm .008 off.

BTW that load runs 3045fps in a 30" 4 groove Bartlein and will shoot 3 in the .1's with boring regularity. It will run over 3100fps but the groups get up near .5.
