What size Night Force Rings?

All:

A friend of mine has a new F-Class Open rifle. His sight rail is a Warner. His barrel is a straight tube. What ht. Night Force Ultra Lite Rings when using a 12-42x56 NXS? Wants a low position, but no touching of course. I am thinking 1.0, but not sure.

Thanks in advance,
Jim Hardy

I have the .885 Nightforce U/L rings on my 6BR with a Remington Varmint contour barrel, a 20 moa base & 5.5 x22-50mm is just right. I have a set of the 1.125 U/L rings for sale $95 they were mounted & realized TO HIGH for my setup NEVER fired

Jim, you gotta measure stuff. Objective diameter divided by two, above which the rings/base need to raise the scope to clear a barrel the same diameter as the rifle action. It's just a little math. Embrace it. ;D

A thicker base means you can use lower rings. A shorter base means you'd need taller rings. All bases and ring mfgs use slightly different dimensions for terms like "low", "medium", whatever. So measure what you got, and pick the missing component -- the rings -- accordingly.
