I was wondering what size neck bushings you guys are using? i've been getting everything ready for a build and getting ready to chamber in the next week or so, i've got a Widden bushing die and bullets, just no cases yet. Just wanted to place an order and try and get the last few items without all at once. Just wondering what you guys are using and what 2 you would order. I'ld rather order an extra or two than have to pay shipping later on one little item.I believe the reamer is a standard 6.5 creedmor from PTG and I'm probably going to start off with Hornandy brass if i can find some, right now i can only find Nosler.

Measuring my new Hornady brass as well as some once-fired Hornady brass, I came up with a .290 neck bushing, calculated for .002 neck tension. I'm using Wilson neck sizing dies, as well as their bullet seater.
My build is a 6.5 Creedmoor Single Shot Savage target action, Bartlein barrel chambered with a off-the-shelf PTG reamer. I'm about to start working with it, we'll see how that bushing works out. That was just what I calculated for my circumstances. My brass has not been turned.... yet!

Thanks for the replies guys. I know the best way is to wait for the brass and seat a few bullets and check. Im going to see if my buddy has a few casing that were fired in the gun he chambered with that reamer a couple months ago and see what they measure. I think I may just order a .289 and .290 as a start and go from there,I hate having to pay $10+ dollars shipping for a 12-15.00 part.lol Shoot I may just tuff it out and wait, I'm getting antsy though.

Thanks for the input,Dave

Creedmoor sports recommends a .288.
Thats what I got and it seems to be spot on.
My loaded rounds with Hornady brass are .290 so .288 is .002 smaller.

What’s the sized neck diameter before seating a bullet?

mine is blown out to .295 and I use a .290 bushing. Since it is .005 tho smaller it actually sizes the brass to .289. Loaded round is .291. Rock on.

That’s ^^^ enough numbers for ‘em to have real meaning. Thank ye much.

I bought a 288 and 290 and am using the 290 right now. I'm using the Whidden dies and bushings, with Hornady brass and Berger VLD 140's
