What seems to be the best powder for 22br using 53gr. bullets?

I was thinking about using Accurate 2520 with 53gr. HPFB bullet. Has anyone tried this? If not what other powders are working for yall?

Seriously, blue dot has been working well for me with the 53 vmax. I know it is niche powder and application, but if you want low recoil, low noise, no barrel heating, good accuracy it is fantastic. I did a write up last year. Probably not what you are after, but hey, you asked and this is the "best powder" I have tried with the 22br.

H335 doing well for me.

I read the BD article, I kind of understand a reduced load. I tend to swap cartridges rather than loads.

I use LT 32- it has some room as to a full case 52 grain Berger accuracy is very good.
I used to use a lot of H-322 and still have a couple of pounds but I really think the hype is right---it shoots a little better.

Never shot 53's in mine, they weren't being made at that time. Just 50's, and the barrel loved 50BlitzkKIngs, never tried Noslers or TNT's. Also I don't believe VV powders were around either, don't remember seeing them. With RL15 powder in the node those 50's shot in the high .000's. With standard old 50Blitz the node was at 3700 and .120". That powder worked well.

Year old thread… I’m loading my dummy rounds for my shilen 23” 12T varmint contour rifle. I hope the 53 v-max shines in that as it does in all my 223s and variants.

Nosler’s load data shows that RL7 was the most accurate in 22 BR though it was the slowest powder tested by 200 fps. Top four for speed for 50,52&53gr are:

1-W748, 2-IMR4895, 3-N135, 4-Varget
I have all but 135 but have 133 I might try as it does pretty good at that 53 g mark in other cartridges.

Anybody else tried anything new? I might also work up a 60gr v-max load and I’m expecting Varget to shine more there.
Sierras data was very similars as far as powders in that range.

A year old yes. And, I have zero to contribute at this time. I plan on fixing that shortly, as soon as I get all of my brass fire formed.
Mine was a straight up 22 BR. At this point with little personal info/data I would have went with the AI or Dasher and planned on a bit heavier bullet. I am still happy with it as is, but we all chase just a smidge better.

I use BlueDot in my. 223 Contender. 16" barrel, suppressed. 50gr. Sierra blitz king doing right at 2900 fps. It's a hammer and stupid accurate. Very very little noise.

Even to myself, I sound like a broken record. I was looking through my 22BR targets, and BLC shows the most small and consistent groups. Especially with the light bullets, but also good with 52 and 55 grainers. My barrel is slow twist at 1/14, so I haven't gone heavier than 55,s. IMR 4895 and 4320 was also good, but if I had to chose just one it would be my old standby, BLC. I'm sure that H350 would be as good.

AND, when you get to using a powder like that, you can pretty much throw your trickler in the corner, and drop your powder with a measure and get to shooting. BLC has been very gettable all through the hard times, and the price hasn't been out of line compared to a lot of em. jd
