What profile for vudoo

Looking at getting a vudoo 22 and not sure weather to go for mtu or Kukri. Right now I can get a Kukri 20 or 22” for 2499 but I’d have to order an mtu and it would most likely be a few months and 2700-2850 ish due to the new dollar! Curious if it’s worth the extra dough and wait time to get into an 18” mtu or grab the 20” Kukri!

rifle will be used 90% for plinking/target and fun. But with 22 comps just starting to make a break in Canada I will try my luck there with the rifle too, but with a new baby on the way, and a busy work schedule it will mainly be for target/fun

My 18" Kukri shoots lights out...I just added weight to the chassis.....By the way it shoots lights out without a tuner also! Just added that 2 weeks ago.

My 18" Kukri Ace shoots great.

Finding a good lot of ammo your barrel likes will benefit you more than the difference in barrel profile.

I have a 18” Bartlein on mine and it shoots pretty good..it really likes center x,Midas +,and loves Eley tenex at a 100yds.

If it were me I'd choose the 22" Kukri. I've had the shorter 16.5" barrel Kukri and it shot really good, just as good as my longer barrels. But it did not balance very well for me (butt heavy). Right now i have 2 Vudoo's and they both have 23" Shilen's on them with a Rem varmint contour which is almost identical to the Kukri from what I understand.

I have both an 20" Kukri and a 22" MTU. After a little comparison I would have stopped at 20" length as I think nothing is gained by the 22". The MTU is surprisingly heavy. Much more than I expected. A 20" Kukri would be ideal IMO. Don't know about suppressor use or legality in Canada but both of mine are shot 100% of the time with suppressors on.

awesome that’s the way I’m leaning is the 20” kukri. In stock, save me a few hundred as they are already 2500 before tax and shipping so more like 2850-2900 vs ordering an mtu at closer to 3200.

suppressors are illegal in Canada which blows so it will be shot without one. Trigger tech diamond is on its way, just have to figure out a stock. Have been wanting to try a krg for some time and a foundation but just heard back with dollar change the foundation could possibly run 3000 dollars!!! Absolutely not paying that for a stock. So trying to decide between krg bravo to try, or x-ray. Whiskey is out of the price as I’m currently finishing up a 25 creed build alsp

My 20" Kukri has a TT Diamond and I love it. It wears a Bergara stock with adjustable cheekpiece and a Hawkins M5 bottom metal. I am happy with it considering I paid right at $300 for it. But I did have to have that speckle look covered with a good coat of Ceracoat.
Went with a Jewell (with safety) on the 22" to save a few $. The 22" is in a KRG Bravo and, although stock feel is subjective, I think you'll like one.

20" Kukri here and I couldn't be happier. Also, the Ace barrel will shoot with anything else you could put on it. The Vudoo is the first step on a slippery slope though because you will see those little groups and that will make you want even more out of the rifle. Mark my words.

I had to correct my comments as my first Vudoo wears a 20" Kukri and no the 18" I was relating.
It may just seem it to me but I think I actually lose velocity more at longer (past 200 yards) with the 22" barrel.

NOT trying to "side track" this, post but, do have a quick question for you very knowledgeable, Rim Fire, guys.
I have a Ruger 10/22 with, a Sporter wood ( Hard Ash ) stock and, a 20 inch tapered "Sporter" .600 Dia at muzzle, Green Mtn Barrel, coming in a few Days.
Would I be better off, Glass Bedding, the rear "corners" of the Receiver and full bedding, the barrel ( with slight, upward Pressure ) or, bedding the first 2-3 inches of the Barrel ( Plus the back corners ) and Free Floating, the rest of bbl ?? I have, a Little Crow GRX "Recoil Lug" to install the barrel with. I'm trying to build, a POOR Mans, KIDD (LOL). IF, anyone's tested, the Free Float vs Full Bed job on Sporter type, Bbl's and had success, one way or, the other, please let me know ! Thanks, in advance ! YES,.. I've started down, an ugly, deep,.. "Rabbit Hole" !
