Yup,........ clearly the scalp of a "wild and wooly" North American whitetail deer......or at least it looks like what I've seen hunting in northern Wisconsin while looking at a deer from 50 yards away and having forgot to turn my scope down from 12X after sighting in my rifle before season......dude.

Male White Tail. I would guess a buck fawn aka "nubbin buck", but it also could be a buck that has lost its horns. You can see the pedicle but without seeing more of that side there is no way to tell which.
A buck fawns pedicle will be almost covered with hair, a buck that has lost its horns will have a black spot where they were.
