What is the new best ballistic app

I've got Strelok, on my phone and a tablet. But it took me forever to figure out how to get around in it and If I don't use it for a few months I have to start over. Is there any that an electronics dummy can get around in?? i used JBM for ever and its easy to get around in does JBM have an APP so I can put it on my phone?
If you are losing the app after several months of non-use, there's a way around that.

On my Android phone, I select the Strelok Pro from the list of apps (in settings) , then under app info - toggle off "pause app activity if unused". This is the setting that removes the permissions set for the app and deletes temporary files it has created.

Hope that helps.

There are ways to transfer Strelok to new Iphones as well, though I think you need to do it before you delete the old phone. The app is called iMazing, used to transfer.

What is the best way to do it as of today? Is a kestrel paired to an app or just a kestrel, or what else is out there? Which kestrel would you need for multiple guns to just select a yardage once your parameters are set up? Is there a rangefinder you set up with your components and it shows everything or what?

I use a Kestrel 5700 on a adjustable mast with the Kestrel swivel attachment. I also use the Applied Ballistics app for the display on my iphone. This is on a rotary table for prairie dogs.
I draw a line on the table that forms the axis of the gun, and another line parallel to that to mount or lay my iphone. I have the iphone on a mount that is aligned with the guns axis.

I range the target with my Leica rangefiner binoculars, and enter that range on my iphone.
I find the target in my scope, then touch the "Direction of Fire" button on the iphone, and the iphone then shows the windage and elevation clicks. All the other weather and wind info is picked up by the 5700 and used in the calculations which appear on the iphone. All the ballistics calculations are done in the 5700

You can bypass the input of the range and DOF if you use the new PRO model Leica binocs, as it will tie to the 5700 via bluetooth.

I can do 10 guns or loads and they are stored in the Kestrel 5700. Just call up the gun you want to use.

JBM for me! They have a simple version and one that requires more info--I had a new 85.5g Berger load worked up for my 7 twist 223--The load was shooting bug holes at 100yds--I had excellent chrono data on the load--I used the G7 BC because Berger provides it and someone told me it would be better--I ran the load--got my chart printed out from JBM--I had never shot the load more than 100 yds--I go to our brand new 600 yd range--was the only guy there--Range officer says =what ya going to shoot? I said 600 yd --he was used to rookies like me and went OK...I dialed right off my chart- first round dead centered the steel at 600--I went on to break 6-- 4 inch clays at 600--packed up said well...That rifle is ready--loaded up and left.
THANKS JBM!!

JBM is the way to go as the above poster said. The way the above poster described his use is exactly the way it should be done. No need to have a computer on site, It should all be done before hand a good zero, good data on MV and bullet ballistic data. Generate the drops and take them to the range dial it in shoot and confirm.

Long before there were apps I would go to JBM and type in all the daily conditions for the next day that the weather service would give for Bradenton FL and the sea level elevation. Get JBM to do all the calculations and drive over and shoot the next day. I could dial up the scope and take a cold bore shot at the 8 inch steel and never be off by more than 4 or 5 inches elevation, but sometimes be 8 to 12 inches off windage, some times closer. I have had good luck with JBM and would delete Strelok if I could get JBM for my phone or tablet. Sorry Bradenton is the nearest city to the Manatee range, but its far enough away and the forecast is never perfect to not be dead on.

Some prefer to have both. Once the app decision is made, take the time to calibrate and confirm the app is accurate (almost all need calibration to a specific gun/load). Then when a printer is handy print off several come-up charts with various wind speed and direction, different slant degrees, different temperatures and density altitudes. Put the printed chart in your shooting bag, drag bag or pocket and you can carry both and use both. Most are going to end up using the app. Well...if it's working!

With a 100 yd zero and accurate FPS I can dial the weather , and basics it asked for ( weather, BC, etc) in Free and Easy JBM --go out and hit my targets--It is easy--it is free--I am almost Amish with tech and it is Easy -- Spend if you like and add in 30 more things another app might ask for but if you put accurate info into JBM it flat out works--After you get the hang of it you can "tune" your BC number so it all gets a little better maybe-- but it does good enough for me.
It is a good one to try if you have never done one--it has an advanced and basic--try the basic to start and just see--Accurate info IN equals accurate info Out

Oddly, one of our club members tells that his Strelok updated itself a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure of NZ's position on Russia...

I have StrelokPro version 7.2.9. Are there updates to that version?

FYI, it transferred seamlessly from my S21 to my new S25.

Still using Strelok Pro here.
Strelok Pro v7.8.0 - Due to U.S. sanctions, released only in Huawei AppGallery.

There is a FACEBOOK link to get you to the site and available info:

Via homepage, select Files tab and download: Unofficial Strelok Pro FAQ, “Long-Tap” Features, and Troubleshooting Guide...
