What is the lowest height front rest?

The 100 yard shooting range that is closest to me for some unknown reason has benches that are angled up in the front. The whole bench top is probably at a 15-20 degree angle. This obviously poses some challenges. I recently got a Sinclair F Class adjustable bipod and used it there. I had to put it on its lowest setting and it still could stand to be a little lower. Even with that and a tall Protector rabbit ear in the back (by necessity) I still had to sit on a cushion to feel anywhere close to comfortable. I usually shoot prone at my other range but it is not allowed on this one. What are my options if any? Has anyone else had to deal with this? I'm thinking hard about some other type rest, coaxial or adjustable but not sure it would even work.

Re: What is the lowest front rest?

Never heard of the benches angled up like that. Only reason would seem to be for height at long range that can't be adjusted by optics.

Re: What is the lowest front rest?

I had the same problem and i made spacer out of rubber from TSC. I think it was a 1/4" and set the rear bag on top and cut it out..... jim

Re: What is the lowest front rest?

I just measured the bipod at the lowest setting and it is 4.5 inches. How far down do the other type rests typically go and would they be able to handle the angle?

Re: What is the lowest front rest?

Get a hold of Protektor. He'll send you leather spacers to glue on the bottom of your bag for a minimal fee.

I have also got leather from a shoe repair/tack shop, and glued up several layers on my own too.

Thanks, I will try raising up the rear bag with glued on leather. How low in the front do rests like SEB, Sinclair Competition, Farley go. I'm wondering if they are anywhere close to this 4.5 inches at their lowest for the future if I decide to get one.

The height of my Sinclair competition rest from the bottom of the base to the top of my 3" Edgewood front bag is 5 1/2".
