what is the best powder scale .

Could somebody tell me what is the best powder beam scale for loading 6mmBR rounds :

The redding n02 or the RCBS 10-10 ?

Thanks.

Some like one, others like the other. It's a personal thing. Both are two-poise designs. The 10-10 is considered portable because it has a cover. RCBS also has the 502,two-poise) and 505,three-poise). The RCBS scales are made by Ohaus. The Ohaus scales have agate bearings; Redding uses milled steel. Any of the four scales referenced are excellent. Both companies offer excellent service, although Ohaus will service the RCBS units. If any of them has a special appeal for you, that's probably the one. I can't say that the cost of the 10-10 is justified when compared to the competition. I use an early version of the 10-10, but haven't used anything else, making me a non-source for comparative info.

I'll suggest that you perform searches to get some opinions.

Thanks for your reply Winchester69 .
I think I'll choose the redding one, because I already have the Redding press and trimmer ).
I just wonder why the Redding is cheaper than the RCBS 10-10, when Redding stuff is usually said to be superior to RCBS.

Then would you tell me where I can find a store that can ship this scale to Europe .
I thought cabela's but they have no more .

For simplicity's sake, I'll suggest that you contact Sinclair. They charge a few dollars more, but it may greatly simplify the process. They'll charge $6 over actual shipping cost, but you can get individualized service. You may be faced with getting an export license. Others have minimum orders for int'l shipping,Graf - $200), and some charge for dealing with the license.

You might also check with some others. MidSouth and Lock, Stock & Barrel are good to deal with. You'll need to go to their websites to get their policies on international orders.

MidWay has a UK website in the event that being inside the EU is beneficial.

The 502 and 505 scales are priced comparably to the Redding. The 10-10 has an extra balance weight to double its capacity. RCBS used to market a 5-10 with the increased capacity. I have to believe that inverse elasticity is at play as well as increased manufacturing cost and low volume to cause the increased cost of a 10-10.

A benefit of dealing with Sinclair and Redding is their quick response to e-mail requests. Should you ever need service, they both will be solicitous.

After using a Lee scale, backed up by an Ohaus, I decided to allow a Lyman to be my primary scale. While I haven't actually received it yet, I expect less hassle toward perfection than from my, here-to-date valued Lee balance. This is NOT the place for saving a few bucks. I hand-weigh every load, since I single-stage all my handloads. I don't load for anyone, so speed is not my concern. Cliffy

I currently use a lee scale, the cheapest full plastic-made called 'safety powder scale'). I think its too light and not reliable. That's why I decided to buy a match-grade beam scale .

After all I'll probably take the RCBS 10-10,indeed it seems heavier than the redding one and has more options.
I did not know the 'lock stock and Barrel' store . I'll try to order there.
Thanks!!
