What is the best .204 Ruger brass?

t am in need of some, and all I can find is Nosler 250 round pack. I tried several different calibers of Nosler brass when they first got into the brass making game, and found it to be soft and low case life. Has anyone had any lluck with it. I have 200 rounds of Hornady and it does very well.

All i have ran is hornady but that has not been arround for 3 years. I think nosler might be ok. Norma is all i have seen lately. A friend needed some so he was able to find factory hornady rounds. Shot them and kept the brass.

I can’t say what is best. I have numerous brands and have not had any issues with one more than another.
Which is best at this time is what you can get.

I've been shooting rifles in 22-204, 6mm-204 and 25-204, never owner a 204 though. I'm still shooting some Win brass that I got in 2005 and have necked it up to 257 and back to 6mm as I need it and like how it holds up. The 22-204 brass is dedicated to one rifle and I leave it that way. I did acquire a bunch of Hornady's but the jury is still out on them but have no complaints.

It is pretty much a common thought these days that Hornady 204 brass is a real booger to work with due to extremely undersize primer pockets. Tried it when the 204 was first introduced, quit using it within one year and went to either Norma, Nosler (when it became available) or even WW, which is the bulk of my 1,200 204 cases.

Over on the 204 Ruger forum, this was the unanimous opinion IRT Hornady 204 brass.

WINCHESTER BY FAR HAS BEEN THE BEST FOR ME. HORNADY IS TO SOFT.
LOOSE PRIMER POCKS AFTER 2 FIRING. MILD LOAD.

I have used Nosler more than any other brand, but do have some Winchester. I bought a couple bags of the WIN 204R brass a few years ago when I first got into the 204R and several cases from each bag were not formed properly right out of the bag so that left a bad taste for me regarding WIN. The rest of those bags have performed well with no further issues. I was able to get some Hornady 1x from a guy a couple yrs ago and have only used it with my current loads developed with Nosler brass, and it did not shoot as accurately, but I did not spend any time to adjust the load to the Hornady brass. I'll find out what it will do when I replace the barrel on this 204R.

WW, Remington & Hornady is what I mainly have experience with. That said, the WW brass has held up extremely well after several reloading cycles. Remington comes in 2nd with the Hornady being 3rd.

This is brass that is basically used strictly for bulk shooting in pdog towns, no prep just load and shoot.

I will say that I had a few WW cases that had wrinkles in the necks or jagged mouths., maybe two or three per bag. The jagged mouths would split the neck necking them up to ,257 but if I trimmed the mouths before necking up they went just fine, wrinkles were tossed. Necking up to .257 I lost about 4/bag. The Hornady elliptical expander ball worked better in one pass than the Redding tapered expander doing it in steps.

Was the WW brass the older blue and white bag? Or the red and white?

I was lucky enough to find a bag of Winchester bag of 100 before the shortages on sale for $23
I was getting into reloading and friend advised to go back and get last bag of it and I did and never saw it again on the shelf.
Another person gave me some Hornady one shot brass and tried that too and think the Winchester shot better.
I have some primed gfl brass I haven’t tried.
I have bought a primer pocket uniformer and flash hole uniformer to try and see if makes any difference.
I have seen good amount of burrs come from the flash hole so hoping I can get better consistent results.

Haven't had problems with Hornady, Fiocchi or Winchester.
Are you reusing Fiocchi 204 Ruger brass that you bought as preloaded ammunition or are you buying brass? I am hoping you say reusing commercially loaded Fiocchi brass that you have shot. I have a couple hundred rounds of Fiocchi Extrema 32 gr. V-max that I bought for my rifle. I would reuse that brass as long as no one has had any issues with it.
