What I found on AccurateShooter

I can’t begin to describe just how privileged I feel to have gotten the opportunity to meet, work and play with a couple of guys that I consider true masters of their trade.
I don’t blow smoke up people’s skirts. I’m not into advertising to make friends. I’m a surgical assistant with legitimate O.C.D. and I thrive off of spending 90% of my time on the final 10% of the finest details. If I’m operating on you, you would appreciate it too.
With that being said- I completed a new bench LG. Remington 722, PTG bolt, jewel, 28” Krieger HV, Bat trigger guard, custom painted revolution stock by me with the help of a master, Brett @Bc’z Custom polished aluminum butt plate (self), pillar/Marine-Tex bedded (self). The chambering was completed by Zack @ Old Dominion Custom Rifles @WSMNUT
Obviously, I met Brett by seeing all the paint porn he and his customers post. There was a diy rattlecan post as well. Having experience in PAINt, myself - I reached out to Brett who I now consider a friend (mom says hi!)
It’s a true luxury to have him available and is packed full of information and experience. We are lucky to be able to be a mere box and shipping label away from a masterpiece while feeling like you got a “hookup” from a buddy.

I’ve had barrels chambered up by many within shipping distance. I don’t care where you are. I’ve had the same privilege, as many of you have had, to choose the best recommendation, with the best reputations.. and... I will probably hate myself for posting this - (it’s like giving away your prized fishing spot)- but Zack at Old Dominion Custom Rifles completely impressed me to the point that I will not use anyone else. Was invited out to the shop to watch him work his magic. I don’t work with surgeons with this level of perfection. Watching him dial everything in was way more fun then watching chips fly and I’m not impressed easily. I have videos and pictures but none of that would be a fair depiction in comparison.
Was invited back out to do a little shooting and “break in” with Zack. Took my two young girls-who played with his young ladies and met his wife as well. He has an absolute beautiful family and I can’t begin to describe the fun we had.
I really want to thank both Zack and Brett. This past year has been a tough one for me and I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to consider these guys as friends. Let’s post some pics!73CB2123-6B0A-4DB2-A954-1664D1EF2AB3.jpeg

I’m proud to say I got to work on such a beautiful gun, meet a really cool dude and got the chance to hang out with your family. These experiences is what we should all be able to do. Have fun, build some really cool stuff and shooting little groups is just icing on the cake.

I can’t wait to see that gun in action at the next match. If you don’t clean house you’ll at least look good doing it!

My “break in” procedure makes me laugh every time I tell it. Zack. This is by far the easiest barrel I’ve ever had.
Starts off with Brass from an unopened container. No prep. Not even running through a die. Nothing. Zack said “let’s see here....what do we got”, as he’s looking through a huge assortment of powders. I was excited... until...
He pull out this Mason jar... it’s got some dust on it.. probably 70% 4064 that’s 40 years old from 6 different lots... 30% mouse turds... good enough to form some brass and see what she does.
We jamb some Bergers Into the lands and take er out...

Shh that’s supposed to be an old family secret recipe for a temperature stable 4064.

lmfao!
I fired about 50 rounds, no cleaning...just shoot. And I’m giggling like a schoolgirl as I watch these groups form on paper with a junk powder, no prep and who the hell knows where they’re seated!? When I get home - this is all the copper I got -

Boretech c4 Carbon remover on a patch only -

cleaned right up!

Hntndad, I'm sure your great comments are appreciated by both individuals whom u spoke of. I have not had the pleasure to experience any work from Bc'z (Brett) but I certainly can relate to WSMNUT (Zack) and his work. Everything (3 rifles) and building another one now that Zack has done for me has been top notch in appearance, quality, and workmanship in every way. Nobody that I've ever dealt with in this industry has come close to his performance, work, and communications. I would highly recommend him to anybody anywhere anytime. (And by the way your rifle is stunning. Your groups speak volumes as well.)

Hey Bill! I’ve seen your groups...I’m glad that reamer worked out for you!
Honestly, I think there are plenty of good smiths out there and I’ve used a couple with a very high resolution pedigree.
What I am humbled by is folks like Zack who are ridiculously meticulous, highly skilled and seem to take each project personally and are able to turn out extremely competitive rifles. Not just competitive, but hunting rifles as well. It amazes me.
