what have i done to the bolt

i was giving the bolt on my 20tac Dakota predator a goog clean when the end turned, and the bolt wont go in all the way now how do i undo what i have done ???

Do you have a tool to remove the firing pin? Probably moved the pin a bit and got it out of alignment. If you have a tool you can loosen it, realign, and release the tension and you should be OK.

You need to push the cocking piece to the rear while rotating the bolt shroud to get the cocking piece back to the full cock notch.

Everyone should learn to do this to their bolts as this could happen in the field or at the range where you may not have the correct tools to rectify the situation.

Peter Paul Mauser provided a latch to prevent shroud rotation when the bolt was not bolted...Wonder why this device is not used in 'modern' desins?
