What gun to buy

Hi Guys

I am looking to buy a new target rifle.

We shoot 200 yds bench, - 100 yds standing, 100yds sitting.
But would like to shoot further.

I am looking for a gun with low recoil like a 223, 243 or 6mm.
prefer Stainless bull.
I have a Contender that I could build a 223 of from but
I have been told it may not be as accurate as I want = 1/2 moa?

I am not ruleing a used gun out. I would buy one all set up and ready to go dies etc.

I have about $1000 in my piggybank I know I have champagne taste on a beer budget.

Ideas anyone?

Maybe a used Cooper in caliber of your choice, If you are able to reload, consider a 6 br.

Yes I reload. I shoot a Rem 100 XR in 308. It has a .6 MOA average.

My wife thinks if I get a second gun I will be gone from the house twice as much? So she gave me $1000 to spend on a gun!

You may want to look into the new,not avail yet) savage 12 f class rifle in 6.5 x 284 then work real hard the next few weeks and get a second barrel for it in 6ppc for short range. It may be a bit heavy for offhand shooting?
