What fun shoot to have to raise money?

We have seen fly and pig shoots talked about, but don't know what they consist of. Our range has I00, 200,300 and 400 yd targets. What would bring in the most people to raise funds for our club?
Where can we see targets?
thanks Don

Sounds like you’re not holding matches yet.
Shoot eggs for meat prizes. It’s very inclusive for a average club.
Each round is bought into and draw names to see who’s shooting first. First one to break it wins the meat. Very fun and rewarding, charge according to attendance and meat. Meat shoots don’t get old and can be held weekly on Sunday afternoons.

Small plaques are given for each Class usual attendance is around 25 shooters.
It's amazing what guys will do for that plaque . Do the math!

You are right about that. We give out certificates and that;s bragging rights.

What do you think the most fun target is to shoot?

thanks Don

I know you guys don't want to hear, but PRS/NRL/Steel type shooting is a growth sector in our sport.

NRL22 matches are designed for you. The NRL22 has a pretty good setup and can help you with targets and courses of fire. They have a inexpensive package of targets to get you started. You will need to invest in steel, but after that, all you need is paint! You can also ask people to bring paint ;) You could ask or charge a little extra for the first few matches to recoup for the steel. It looks like you in NY so 22lr might be easier than pistol or centerfire matches with all the laws in NY. Reach out to the NRL22 guys, they are very good people. PM me if you need more info.

Once you have a good match, you might be able to branch out into centerfire steel matches. 400y is not a lot, but enough to have fun and make it a challenge. It will require different steel and different courses of fire. Rimfire matches are family friendly and great to get kids shooting.
