What flip top boxes for PPC cases

Ok, I have tried several I thought would work but they are either too tight at the base or too high in the lid, letting the empties dance about all over in my range bag. I need a mnaufacturer and a part number, or at least a cartridge that will work...thanks for help in advance

PPC users, what do you do?

I use MTM RSS-50 Case Boxes and I have made a piece of foam rubber with punched holes big enough for bullets and necks to fit through but case shoulders are held for loaded rounds. It's a reasonable tight fit in the box, easy to remove. I invert fired cases so with a combination of fired and loaded rounds the empty inverted cases will not fall out of their sections even if the box is up side down.

BTW. I use the same removable top MTM Boxes for a number of calibres, convenient on the reloading bench to keep rounds in sorted order. It would be nice if they came supplied with the foam rubber inserts. Time consuming to make but I imagine simple for a manufacturer to punch them out in bulk.

Same here except mine came with a molded plastic "tray" that fits over the loaded rounds that are standing up.

I have some here for .22 Hornet with that tray. Maybe I should search suppliers further and I think I saw what you refer to somewhere when I purchased my last lot. Perhaps they only had a couple or I thought they were too expensive....forgot as it's been awhile.

Everybody i know uses a maisto competition cartridge box. Since a ppc is an oddball dia its gonna rattle in an off the shelf box

Thanks..does this hold 50 and where can I find them Dusty? I need them for groundhog shooting and I load in batches of 50. Most of the PPC boxes i see are designed for point blank guys at the bench (and are really nice) but are not practical for what I do.

I have some weird ones like a 37 rd and like a 52 rd- prototype stuff but i think a 40rd is std and like a 20 or 25. He will make whatever you want tho.

And steve at benchrite has some zombie green and black 50rd clear tops for like a 22-250 maybe that work real well for under $10. Its an oddball size cant remember but i have a few i got from him that work good then went to get my own and couldnt get that size. Id give him a call and see what he has

MTM RSS-50 is what you want. Works for PPC and BR cases....

That's what I quoted earlier. The RSS-50 but you will find that empty/fired cases will still fall out of their spots if you don't put something extra inside then tip the case up side down. Not ideal if you have your cases sorted and want to keep them in order.

Don't get anything that fits a 22-250,243,308 etc as they are way too tall...typically these are the RS-50.

If you want the best it's Joe Maisto. Site member, gentleman, and a great guy to deal with. Everything is well made and well thought out.

they wont rattle in these, but it is a little hard to take it to the line every relay.
for preloading at home to test or travel to shoot dogs these work great.

Yep, you sure did...lol.

I figured a visual with 220 Russian cases and FF cases would be worth "a 1000 words".

As for rattling around...what is the purpose to stop them from rattling?

I care not if they rattle. I just hate it when I go groundhog shooting, hit 7 and put those cases in neck up, and miss 3, put cases in primer up (to keep score) and then when I get home find them all laying sideways in the box.... :o

I travel about half a day to go to competition shoots and over some very rough roads. Most of the calibres I use are setup with very little neck tension and I found that rattling around was affecting my seating depths so I try to reduce their movement in transit. One by travelling with them on a slight angle rather than standing verticle and then the inserts to restrict movement. I have had someone by accident knock over one of my boxes of sorted cases and all those that were not loaded ended up loose all over the inside of a box and thus all out of order. The insert keeps them in place, even up side down.

Most times I don't have time to reload at a range nor the facilities to do so.

Mega,

I was not trying to disrespect you...I simply did not read it well enough. Old eyes i guess. Thanks to you and Ridgeway...I am going to try the Rss...I actually found one lonely RSS in my cabinet holding some old BR rounds...it will work. Anyone can tell me where they get foam, cause I might add a thin piece in the lid.
