What is the definition of Center of Pressure?

In a nutshell what the bullet does is a combination of twist vs velocity. I think most knowledgeable shooters are aware of this. Not new and starteling information. Bryans books are interesting and worth reading ( mine are on my loading bench) but the ultimate info needed will show up on the targets you shoot with your guns and loads . Nothing approaches real world testing to give you answers.

If you have ever talked to Randy Robinett, you can learn a lot about twist rates, the rpm of the bullet as it relates to bullet stability, and why the proper twist rate/bullet combo is important.

In the short range game, 100/200/300 yards) BC is a non issue.if you look at the numbers on paper, most of us in Group Shooting are using the wrong twist at 13.5 to 14. The numbers say a 1-12 would be the best for the typical 65/68 grn bullet Combinations Built on a .795 or .825 jacket.

But I know of very few shooters who shoot a 1-12.

The holes in the target are as good of a gage to how stable the bullet is. This is one of mr 200 yard targets from last Sunday’s match at Lake Charles, shooting in 15+ mph winds.

That is my 68 grn bullet on .825 jackets out of a 13.85 to 13,75 Bartlien Going around 3425 fps.

A 1-12 might be ideal, but those holes in the paper tell a good story.0ABCD119-A573-4809-9E2D-428970B7F921.jpeg

I have had that conversation with Randy several times, a wealth of information indeed.

I have also had the same conversation, on the same day with Bart Sauter and Lowell Frei.
I decided that for, long for caliber bullets, moving relatively slow, it (RPM) matters more so, than for short, fast bullets.
