what do you think?

what would u do? Been shooting 34.7 grains out of my 6.5x47 lapua of rl-15. jammed bout .020 into rifling with 123a-max. can't get much speed without already seeing signs of pressure around 35.5. bumped back another .010 and bumped powder up to 35.1. I'm working on trying to get more fps out of gun but if I loose accuracy I'll be done with that. reason being is that I found a place to shoot 1000+ more like 1400 or so. I gotta get a little more velocity to keep them transsonic. Should I keep backing them out of the lands and keeping adding powder? will I be able to get more velocity but keep accuracy? This is kinda iffy cause I got 505 yard ghog with one shot and 455 yard ghog with one shot. I hate to vear off something so accurate. already got all my scope adjustments. also got adjustment for 770 yards.

There's probably no answer that can be reasonably predicted until you test and find out. Chronograph, watch your pressures and check the targets.

Sounds like an opportunity to re-chamber to 6.5X57AI or get another rifle for those longer shots.

Hey most 6ppc's are super accurate and nobody shoots them much past 600 yds. ever! :) Slow is slow. If your speeds are way down then you will have a fun time searching a better suited combo for longer ranges. Makes it all worth while. Just my thoughts.

Sorta like trying to race a VW at Indy. You can make it go plenty fast for a VW, but if ya want to race at Indy, you probly should have an Indy car. :)

I don't know. I don't think it's like racing really. I shot 3 shots at 770 on saturday. 2 shots were 1.25 apart. 3rd one was out. was it me? the conditions? or my reloading? going back up tomorrow I think. I'm cranked them up .4 grains. I'm going to shoot round 3 something first with my old scope adjustments and take that distance and see how much higher it is. I'll get a round about idea what to use for my adjustment to 770 then do that probably. got nephew coming too. we're going to try to sight in and dial in 55 bk in his 243. Also got 7mm rem mag with 110 tnt hp speer ladder test. not sure what distance I'm going to use for that either. It's going to be a good but loud morning. ;D Farmers got field cut that I can get shots at 700+ on ghogs so I have to get it done very soon. probably have to just use old load and try to get something ready for 2nd cut.
