What disciplines is the stock legal for?

I would appreciate some help with this. What I'm trying to figure out is what mid and long range disciplines this stock is legal for. It has a spot milled out on the bottom of the forend essentially making a couple of rails.

Thanks
Bart

It's legal for 500 and 1000 yard bench rest and probably a lot of others I'm not familiar with. Is it a Shurly Bros. stock?

Maybe I should ask, What is it illegal in?

I may be ok! I'm going to shoot some F Class, Ibs 600 and 1000 yards Benchrest! I wonder if it's legal on the NBRSA side of the House.

Bart, I believe that it is only illegal in short range benchrest. Speedy told me that there has been a slight adjustment in F Class maximum width, so I would look into that.

I looked at the January 2015 revision of the rules and the maximum forend width is specified at 76mm which rounds off to .008 under 3".

Many many guns on the line with that mod. Very popular in f class. I think ray bowman started that as it was done years ago on a stock i got in from him as the first i had seen. Very early lowboy

The angle of the drop from pistol grip to the toe. My guess it's a long range stock only. Its in the rule book about this angle. Is the butt basically straight ? it's long range.

It's a long range stock for sure. I just wanted to know if the rail/runner style of the bottom of the forend was legal in all long range venues and if not which ones. That is a pic of Speedys new stock design.

Thanks for the help guys!

Dusty,
There is also this.

"Sandbag
The Front Sandbag
shall be a bag, without additions,
containing sand only, and at least ½ inch thick over its entire
surface. The bag must be able to be deflected horizontally at
least ¼ inch with finger pressure at any point. The portion,
which contacts the rifle, shall contact the entire surface under

the fore-end. Tape on sandbag is legal. "

This is from the NBRSA short range CF rules.
