What chronograph nowdays?

There are several new radar chrony's these days that are pretty good (e.g. Labradar LX, Velociradar, Rangecraft) . But, IMHO. . . the Garmin Xero C1 Pro is at the top. It's consistently accurate, easy to set up, doesn't miss a shot, it's compact saving space. Other chrony's can be had for less $$$, but the Garmin is an all around good value.

Garmin is fantastic. It just works. However, Athlon has a brighter display, is quicker to display results and is less expensive. A buddy has one and it too, just works. No personal experience, but I'd seriously consider the Athlon if I didn't already have a Garmin. IMNHO, you won't go wrong with either one.

im like krogen— got garmin before athlon came out. if i was buying these days id have to compare them both to decide.

A friend confirms that the Athlon will pick up shots from other shooters 1 or 2 benches away.

I read, not long after the Athlon came out, that it uses older technology.

I was shooting next to my buddy this past Saturday and his Rangecraft did not pick my shots up. Also to add...it didn't miss any of his.

I have only missed maybe one shot in hundreds or more shots with the Garmin

The Garmin casing is plastic.
Internal battery cannot be changed..the Labradar LX casing is Aluminium and internal battery can be changed by user if ever need to.
The Lab LX is bluetooth with a great app.
The Garmin is made in Taiwan..the Lab in Canada.

Air density is the key factor for drag. Air density changes as the temperature and pressure change. The ideal gas law relates the three values, temperature, pressure and density. Change one and the others change. As temperature goes up density goes down. As air pressure goes up, density goes up.

Athlon, cheaper and works every time. I've yet to have it pick up anybody else's shots at the range. Garmin would be my 2nd choice. Friends have Garmin and I took the chance and went cheap on the Athlon. No issues, it just works.
