This has been my experience as well. An absolute "bomb" at any range!Shoot 87gr vmax in my 6 dasher 8 twist (improved 6 br) and they are devastating. Have never had one come apart in flight and have shot them to 800. Great combination in my opinion.
Thank you for the information I’ve been looking at the new 80 ELD . Do you think one deals with the wind better than the other?I’ve been using the 65gr vmax out of a 8 twist prs gun and have been impressed, great accuracy, very explosive with the velocity and rpms. Recently loaded the new 80gr eldvt and I think the 65gr blows up better. Never had one not make it to the target either. I like both bullets but I think il keep loading the 65s.
most of my shooting was 1-500 yds
Majority around 2-300.
Most of the time I think they hang out in the cheap bars down at the wharf.I've never seen a prairie dog in Mystic.![]()
Beat me to it!I would guess they would prefer the ones that miss.
I "dare" them.....I've never had a dog complain about what bullet I shot it with.
The dogs prefer one that always misses!I’ve just acquired a 8 twist 26” barrel in 6BR. Plan to use this only for 300-600 yard prairie dog shooting. Wondering what the pros are using for a bullet in this situation. Any and all help is much appreciated.
Thanks men
Kevin
I am running 100% doi* with the 300gr Berger out of my 338 Lapua. Even on Rockchucks and the occasional Coyote. Might be marginal on Badgers though, I am still researching that. Six for six to date.
