What Barrel ???

I have A anschutz 64 action that I am putting together for A hunter silhouette gun. My question is witch barrel and what contour. My stock weights just about 2lbs and the total weight of the gun can not exceed 8.5 lbs. Any input is needed. Thanks Mike

+1 on the Lilja barrel. If he doesn't have a prefit for an Anschutz, they're not too hard to fit. The tenon requires close tolerances, and the extractor and loading tray cuts are best done in a milling machine. Other than that........

I know of three Anschutz that have Lilja barrels in 17 HMR. All can shoot 1/2 moa at 100 yds. My impression is that shooters and ammo are the limiting factors on all 3. Regrettably, none belong to me. A donor is expensive and hard to find, so I'm still looking. My latest attempt will be a Ruger 77-17. If I end up with the rifle, I can get a Lilja barrel for it with the money I would save on an Anschutz.

Good shooting, Tom

Broughton gets a vote from me. Rock Creek is another.

+1 on these suggestions. I REALLY like the Lilja's the best, but hate the wait time if they don't have one already made. But those Broughton's sure are nice as well with the Rock Creeks right behind. All should be able produce very good results considering the platform being used.

Consider a Lilja 4 groove, 16 twist tight bore.

For a contour, a RF 93 will keep you in weight.
